about the class:
beautiful examples of pointed pen calligraphy are everywhere right now! and what is not to love about this gorgeous letterform?
if you’ve never picked up a calligraphy pen (or you’d like a little refresher) this class will offer a very basic introduction to the copperplate script.
though modern forms of this script is immensely popular, we’ll be working on learning a more classic form that will give students a great jumping off point from which to develop their own personal styles (but that’s another class!)
we’ll focus mostly on lowercase letters and leave the class having addressed envelopes to whomever you are wanting to impress.
spend your saturday learning a new skill, making friends and enjoying food and drink at tugboat, a downtown lincoln art gallery.
all students will receive an calligraphy kit that you will use in class and can take home afterwards. you do not need to bring any of your own supplies.
you will get:
2 pen nibs
1 roll of washi tape
1 small paint brush
oblique pen holder
1 pad of practice paper
1 jar of black ink
and other little goodies
